Members of BILD have developed friendships with Tuzla’s Serbian Orthodox, Catholic, and Muslim leaders. Through on-going practical goodwill projects for example delivering wood to the Islamic community’s drug rehab center, delivering shoes and school supplies to needy parishioners of the Serbian Orthodox church, hosting an inter-faith dinner with all three of Tuzla’s religious leaders and US army chaplains, BILD has established itself as an organization dedicated to goodwill, fairness, and respect for each of BiH’s faith communities. As such, BILD is poised to help encourage concrete acts of reconciliation.
For example, BILD in partnership with the women’s organization Prijateljice is implementing a Chicken Project in Zvornik which involves simultaneously providing chickens to Catholic, Serbian Orthodox, and Muslim families in one Zvornik village who have good relations with each other. The chickens will help each family create monthly income.
Goodwill projects such as the Chicken Project serve as a vehicle for reconciliation between religious leaders as they bless these positive moves towards living together in peace.
